Jose Mourinho has hired extra muscle - not for Real Madrid though. AS reports that he has employed the services of a 24 hour bodyguard while he lives in the Spanish capital.

Mourinho has had a personal body guard for the last six years wherever he has coached, at Porto, Chelsea and Inter, and he is set to continue the trend at Madrid.

He is expected to have a bodyguard with him wherever he goes, even when he pops out to the shops. Mourinho is no stranger to controversy. He has received threats to himself and his family ever since he coached Porto.

Last year, Italian police arrested four men who were plotting to raid his home in Milan. They discovered phone numbers, adresses and maps on the Macedonian suspects in relation to the coach.

Mourinho is currently on holiday with his family, but he is expected to return to Madrid on Monday when he starts work for his new club.
